Clongen Laboratories, LLC is a CAP accredited, GLP facility located in Gaithersburg, Maryland. In our Clinical Diagnostics division, we offer an extensive testing menu composed of both molecular biology and microbiology assays. Our test menu covers Tick-borne illnesses, Respiratory Infections, Gynecology, Systemic Infectious Diseases, Infectious Arthritis, Parasitic Infections, Viral Infections, and Fungal Infections. In our Contract Research division, we offer a wide range of services to biotechnology companies, pharmaceutical companies, government entities, and universities geared to assist in lot release testing as required by the FDA and other regulatory agencies.

We are seeking to hire a recent graduate interested not only in gaining laboratory experience but also in learning more about the field of biology.

Responsibilities include:

  • DNA and RNA extractions from biological and non-biological samples
  • Real-time and conventional PCR assays
  • Gel Electrophoresis with gel imaging, labeling, and analysis
  • Technical writing – standard operating procedures and other laboratory documentation
  • Data analysis and documentation
  • Other laboratory tasks or assays as needed

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in the life sciences or another related field is required
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to details, well-organized, and the ability to work independently
  • Desire to actively learn new information and laboratory skills
  • Prior Laboratory experience is preferred but not required
  • Next-generation Sequencing experience is preferred but not required
