Borrelia afzelii

Borrelia afzelii is a common causative agent of Lyme disease in Europe. It also causes Acrodermatitis Chronica Atrophicans (ACA) in late stage Lyme borreliosis. This is characterized by reddish blue skin infections, causing wrinkling, parchment-like skin.  Borrelia garinii is also a causative agent of Lyme disease in Europe.
