Bordetella bronchiseptica is a bacterium that can cause respiratory infections. While Bordetella bronchiseptica rarely infects humans, individuals with weakened immune systems are susceptible and may develop symptoms such as whooping cough, sinusitis, Â bronchitis, pneumonia, and pleuritis, but is also associated with endocarditis, peritonitis, meningitis and wound infections.
