[vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_column_text]Leptospira are spirochetal bacteria that cause leptospirosis.There are multiple serovars of leptospira which can cause infection.The most common form of transmission is though infected animal urine.Humans contract leptospira through contaminated water, food or soil that has been in contact with infected animals.It is not known to be spread from person to person.Symptoms appear after 4-14 days of incubation and include fever, chills, aches and vomiting.More severe cases can include jaundice, red eyes, abdominal pain and rash.Treatment includes prescription of antibiotics.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
